July is a very lovely month to be Chicago, Illinois because there are so many summer concerts that are going to take place. In 2018 some of the very best artists the country has to offer like Taylor Swift, Brian McKnight, and David Byrne just to name a few will be performing in Chicago. Below are a few Chicago summer concerts that should not be overlooked.

Taylor Swift in Chicago

Taylor Swift is one of the most famous singers of this generation and straight off the heels of her new album “Reputation”; she is hitting the road to promote it. Her last tour received plenty of praise from those in attendance because it was so energetic and this time around fans expect the same from this very talented singer as she promotes her R&B influenced project. This is a contrast from the pop-influenced projects she has released in the past. British pop star Charli XCX and Havanna singer Camila Cabello will be her supporting acts and this is a show not to be missed in Chicago this summer.

David Bryne Concert

Scottish American Musician Bryne has been in the music industry for a very long time and is well known for having a distinctive voice as well as the ability to play multiple instruments. He was one of the members, lead singer, and songwriter of American New wave band “Talking Head” between 1975 to 1991.

Post Malone Comes to Chicago

Austin Richard Post AKA Post Malone is a record producer, singer, rapper and songwriter with a string of hits on the Billboard top 100. If you live near Chicago, he is an artist who is known to put on a great show for his adoring fans.

Brian McKnight

R&B legend, songwriter, producer Brian McKnight revolutionize the music industry in the early to late 90s. He can play 8 instruments including the trumpet, tuba, piano, bass guitar, guitar, trombone, percussion, and flugelhorn.

Spring Awakening Music Festival

This incredible outdoor festival that focuses on electronic music and EDM happens each and every year in Chicago. IL. While it has taken place at the Soldier Field between 2012 – 2016, as of last year, the venue has been changed to Addams/Medill Park. There will be plenty of famous people performing especially top artists like Afrojack, Deadmau5, Steve Aoki, Kaskade and many more. Anyone who has been to this festival since its introduction will tell you that it is one that should not be missed because the music is amazing, the beer is always flowing, the locals in the area are friendly and the atmosphere is electrifying. Summer starts at the Spring Awakening Festival

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra

It really cannot be summer without this world-renowned orchestra known as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra who celebrates their 125th birthday this calendar year. While this might sound very old to many people, they are actually young when compared to other orchestras in Europe like the Royal Danish Orchestra who have been around for well over 550 years. To celebrate this milestone and magnificent achievement, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra will have a series of shows and events across the summer months featuring work from Mahler and Beethoven.

For all upcoming shows, tickets and all events that will happen in Chicagoland over the summer Feeltix has the full schedule.
